Pre-arranged visit (e-mail with Headteacher's PA Vicki Clarke). Made most welcome and escorted to the location of the FBM - inner quadrangle of school. Allowed to photograph. The school is happy to allow visits but would prefer them to be pre-arranged and in term time so that staff are available.

To be honest, I hadn't read the previous logs as I turned into the school car park. I reported to the reception desk and the lady there, Carole, didn't know about the FBM. But she called for back up and Dave appeared, who did.
Dave escorted me to the FBM and we chatted. They get about 2 requests a year to see the FBM.
Back at reception Carole asked me what I would have done if they had refused my request. I said, "go on to another". I think she thought I was going to make a run towards the FBM regardless or return after dark and climb over the building.

Turned up on spec and was readily escorted round to see the FBM which is located in an enclosed quad within the school, so no chance of an out of hours visit (or trespass). Height tag is fixed to the front plate, no 'playpen'. Photos at:

A phone call to the college was answered by a very friendly lady who arranged a visit for that afternoon. Going outside of term time is much easier.
