This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 231.9835 feet [70.7086 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Bishopston to Carmarthen and Cowbridge to Bishopston levelling lines.

Logged on 2nd April 2006 by superswifteagle. Grid reference: SS 5743 8932. Condition: Slightly damaged.
On grassy knoll over the way from the Beaufort pub, and overlooking Bishopston valley. Nice spot. The upper part of one face has suffered some rough treatment, but nothing too serious. No playpen.
