Flush Bracket 2930: by Pont y Bat 

Flush Bracket on E. face of house at smithy, 10 chains N. from Pont y Bat [2GL] - note location improved to SO 1196 3413 from original plot of SO 119 342; smithy and house evidently lost to road junction improvements.

This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 482.4370 feet [147.0468 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Church Stretton to Brecon levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on E. face of house at smithy, 10 chains N. from Pont y Bat.

Grid ref points to field immediately E of A470. As per Cheshire Cat, there are no buildings near here, what's more the aerial photos show no signs of any having been here. There are historical records of a smithy hereabouts (http://www.cpat.org.uk/projects/longer/histland/midwye/mwindust.htm which lists it as within 1km of Trephilip Farm) which would fit. It's gone now though I reckon
