Flush Bracket on N. face of S. battlement of bridge, near Grove Iron Works [2GL] - note estimated location amended slightly to SY 4537 9310 from originally suggested SY 4539 9311.

This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 35.9200 feet [10.9484 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Dorchester to Beer levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on N. face of S. battlement of bridge, near Grove Iron Works.
Third Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1950-68)
This flush bracket was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales. It was included on the Dorchester to Beer levelling line.

No sign of FB on bridge over River Simene to the W of the foundry (nor on a stray parapet on S side of road to E of the foundry).

The Iron Works are now TH Metalwork. There are parapets both west (SY 4536 9311) and east of the works, neither of which has a FB. At the GR there is just a fence. The FB is not on the OS database. I reckon it has gone.
