This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 217.0550 feet [66.1584 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Northallerton to Forcett levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on S. face of Sigston Bridge.
Third Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1950-68)
This flush bracket was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales. It was included on the Forcett to Northallerton levelling line.

I can see why ted missed this. First of all, walk along the footpath which lies to the South West of the road (West side of the river) then look back towards the bridge - the flush bracket is just visible on the South East face of the bridge (below road level). Then cross over the bridge towards the East side of the river (South side of the road), climb through the metal railings and then haul yourself around the end of the wooden fence, getting covered in mud. Kneel down - there's the flush bracket on the South East face of the bridge.
