Flush Bracket on gate pier, S. side of road, at back entrance to house, Fontwell [2GL] - FB reported destroyed 1950; presumably replaced by G2532.

This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 103.3190 feet [31.4916 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Fareham to Arundel levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on gate pier, S. side of road, at back entrance to house, Fontwell.

Not on obvious modern brick gate posts W of roundabout. Not found under ivy on stone gate posts nearer to roundabout. Wrought iron gates locked and no hand access to feel inside. No access to house seen inside from roads E or W. Perhaps Racecourse Offices and accessable on race days? Or take mirror on a bent stick!
