This projecting bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 238.6920 feet [72.7533 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Great Linford to Hemel Hempstead levelling line. The surveyor's description was Bracket on S. face of bridge, W. side of Grand Junction Canal.
