FB visible on concrete block at end of pier. Unable to get close - a fence in the way and "dangerous structure" signs. Too many folks around waving to friends on cruise liners to consider climbing the fence. There is also a further fence immediately in front of the FB which would probably render it difficult or impossible to use for its intended purpose.

There is indeed a fb at righthand side of the end of the pier. On a low wall sort of thing. But the end of the pier is fenced off - No Entry. Dangerous Structure - and the number was unreadable from a distance. It would be easy enough to climb over but was very public at 3pm. Take binocs?

No sign of FB around SU 4199 1086 (original estimated location - landward end of Town Quay; area heavily redeveloped). However, have since found BM 4.13m marked on MasterMap at the seaward end of the Town Pier at around SU 4190 1048. Flush bracket at end of pier was also reported on trigonomy on 04/08/2002 as extant (though without indication of FB number), so FB probably still survives.
