This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 132.3827 feet [40.3502 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Bulmer to Flamborough, Flamborough to Mickleby and Patrington to Flamborough levelling lines.
