This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 407.4700 feet [124.1969 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Great Bedwyn to Wallingford and Upton Lovell to Great Bedwyn levelling lines.
