This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 732.4130 feet [223.2395 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Aberystwyth to Lampeter and Lampeter to Llandovery levelling lines.

Has plaques on three sides. Facing the FBM, the one of the left side reads: 'Ordnance Survey Bench Mark'; the second, facing the road, is the explanatory plaque in English from July 1999 (now covered in lichen); the third, right hand side, is the same 1999 plaque in Welsh.
