This fundamental bench mark was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 177.1010 feet [53.9804 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Liverpool F.B.M. to Liverpool Tide Gauge and Liverpool to Daresbury levelling lines.
Third Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1950-68)
This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 177.1010 feet [53.9804 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Daresbury to Liverpool, Liverpool to Dyserth and Liverpool to Hoghton levelling lines.

Found on the second attempt, the first one being after sundown and the gates were looked. I assume that was the reason and not because of the football match being played nearby.

An easy find in Stanley Park then off to view the two football grounds.

Not mentioned by previous logs is the fact that the height plate is missing, judging by the condition for a good many years. The opposite side to the BM plate has the standard modern OS plaque warning against damaging the mark.
