This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 385.4530 feet [117.4861 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Hawick to Moffat levelling line. The surveyor's description was E face of buttress of Martin's Bridge, 5' N of angle of bridge.
