This fundamental bench mark was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 198.2209 feet [60.4177 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Kings Lynn to North Pickenham and North Pickenham to East Harling levelling lines.
Third Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1950-68)
This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 198.3560 feet [60.4589 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Castor to North Pickenham, East Harling to North Pickenham and North Pickenham to Thornham levelling lines.
Visited on 24th January 2016 by jonglew. Grid reference: TF 87279 06110. Condition: Good.
At side of a farm track, along which the farmer actively discourages visitors with 'Disease Risk' signage. I did a quick risk assessment and decided I was no risk so ignored that and found FBM ok if a little sunken into the ground; low-level, green scaffold-type railing surround it; height tag missing.
