This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 219.5117 feet [66.9072 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Ayr to Stranraer, Stranraer to Creetown and Stranraer to Portpatrick levelling lines.

Set back from road in a patch of mutant nettles. Once in amongst them relatively easy to spot under the branches of a tree. Moss covered but otherwise in very good condition. Blank height plate.
