Second Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1946-51)
This fundamental bench mark was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 100.2646 feet [30.5607 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Navenby to Thornham and Thornham to Gimingham levelling lines.
Third Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1950-68)
This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 100.3108 feet [30.5747 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the North Pickenham to Thornham, Thornham to Gimmingham and Thornham to Navenby levelling lines.
Visited on 23rd January 2016 by jonglew. Grid reference: TF 73168 42704. Condition: Slightly damaged.
On field side of hedgerow, a little awkward gaining access from the handy layby. Scaffold-type railings, some damage to top screed and height tag missing. Photos at:

Found it at last.O/S sketch and photo out of date.Very overgrown and farm track exits @100m S.through hedge .Not visible from overgrown lay-by.
