This fundamental bench mark was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 577.5290 feet [176.0308 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Upton Lovell to Flax Bourton and Winchester to Upton Lovell levelling lines.
Third Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1950-68)
This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 577.5290 feet [176.0308 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Flax Bourton to Upton Lovell, Upton Lovell to Great Bedwyn and Upton Lovell to Thornford levelling lines.
Visited on 1st April 2013 by jonglew. Grid reference: ST 95705 42429. Condition: Good.
No crop in the field and ground frozen so no mud! Parked at entrance to the track to Quebec Farm on the B390 and had a pleasant walk across. Cleared some old dying weeds from the playpen, otherwise all in good condition.

Crop now havested and able to access the FMB.Good condition but railings full of weeds.
