This fundamental bench mark was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 22.3160 feet [6.8019 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Castor to Wicken and Wicken to Clare levelling lines.

Third Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1950-68)
This fundamental bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 22.3160 feet [6.8019 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Clare to Wicken and Wicken to Castor levelling lines.

Very overgrown. At entrance to quarry. Playpen in good condition. Difficult to see the FBM, I took a photo of what I thought was it but I may have been looking at the wrong end of the enclosure. http://maps.jochta.com/benchmarks.php?id=663

Playpen FBM - appears in good condition as far as I could see as the Playpen is very overgrown. Farmland area and views.

Visited on 6th August 2012 by aghadleigh. Condition: Inaccessible.
Definitely one for a winter visit. Wasn't going to bother logging this, but just in case anyone was planning to go out of their way to see it, this is what it looked like on the 6th of August 2012:

Traditional green railings.good condition,a bit overgrown,as usual.On corner of junction leading to a quarry.
