This flush bracket was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales. It was included on the Thornham to Navenby levelling line. The surveyor's description was E face, S end of bridge parapet, E side of road, Heacham.

Nothing on old bridge or new bridge. Lanline has a 9.35m BM apparently on milestone, TF68313749, none at either bridge. OK wrong bridge :-(

No sign of FB.Spent sometime digging around as the soil/road level seemed very high.A very interesting bridge made of local carstone which is heavily weathered.Thanks again to IanR for the info from (OS54/645)
