This projecting bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 179.0400 feet [54.5714 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Basingstoke to Wallingford levelling line. The surveyor's description was Bracket on S.E. battlement of bridge over railway, Mortimer Railway Station.

Couldn't see it either - it should be within 1m of track level (comparing survey height with height of FB on station). There is a cut mark on the road parapet of the same bridge (BM0931) which is on the OS database. The PB is not on the database so I conclude probably destroyed.

Couldn't see it from the end of the platform, or at least from as far along the platform as I was allowed to go.
