There is a trackside BM shown on OS MasterMap on the NW side of the tracks on the E face of the W parapet of the bridge on the N side of Oxford Road. Going by the pattern of trackside PBs on this 2GL line, this could be this BM.

The 2006 log is based on bad assumptions (the assigned GR assumed a road level mark whereas another mark on a level road 50m east is 19ft below the PB height, and that the mark was on a part of the bridge which was demolised). Noting that a mark of the correct ODN is shown on the western parapet on the 1959 Map, I concluded that the allocation of a definitely destroyed status to be unsound, and also the statement that it is not shown on Maps after 1931 uncertain.
I therefore decided to visit the site to see if a mark could be seen. The location is not accessible to the public being trackside north of the bridge deck (Reading West station platforms are south of the bridge).
