This bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales. It was included on the Great Linford to Hemel Hempstead levelling line. The surveyor's description was OSBM Bolt on SE end of culvert, SW side of road, 8' SE from centre of stream.

The culvert is still there, but I could see no sign of the Bolt. It has probably gone (I give a cautious Couldn't find, in case I was having an aberration). The culvert on the SW side has a different style to that on the NE side. Even though it doesn't look new, it might have been replaced.
