On top of the bank behind the platform, in the undergrowth behind the fence on the drive leading down to the station. It was buried, but not particularly deep. Instead of being set in a horizontal concrete block, it was on a sort of plinth with sloping sides. Diameter 45mm, suggesting it might be set deeper than normal. I couldn't make out the normal engraved letters when I was there, but zooming in on one of my photographs, I can possibly make out the top of O or S. Afterwards, I could not make it out from the pavement.

I believe the location is within the limits of the platform, and there is a block with 'tyre tread' surface buried at about the right place. Needs further investigation.
