This flush bracket was used during the Third geodetic levelling, England & Wales. It was included on the Basingstoke to Wallingford levelling line. The surveyor's description was N face, NW angle of Ash Cottage, SE side of road, Little Stoke.

Cottage, N face NW angle. Thick paint but legible. Barely visible from road, 10m back.

The FB is on the side of the house (N face). The owner says the house was pebble-dashed about 6 years ago, as Luke W observed. However, the FB has survived with only superficial pebble-dash material on it as shown in photo.

N face NW angle of this house is clearly visible from the road, but there was no FB to be seen. The walls looked suspiciously pebble-dashed.
