This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 304.5970 feet [92.8412 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Melbourne to Nuneaton levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on E. face of cottages opposite Post Office, Shackerstone.

E face of outbuilding next to gate to #31, W side of road, opposite telephone box. FB clearly visible at the moment, but the Virginia Creeper is sprouting rapidly, so FB may soon be obscured again
