This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 184.0190 feet [56.0890 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Navenby to Hibaldstow levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on E. gable of Midge Inn Houses, Ermine Street [Roman Road].

Having visited G2472, I thought I should complete the FB trail here by getting as close as possible to the locations of lost 2242 and G2471. Old Maps 1947-8 1:10560 shows the building adjoining old Ermine Street at SK97238015, close to an engine test area.
