This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 499.7120 feet [152.3122 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Caddonfoot to Hawick levelling line. The surveyor's description was E face of W parapet of old toll bridge, 6' N of junction of fence & wall.

Definitely not 32ft from either end of bridge; stands proud of the brickwork; and I'm sure I've driven past in the last year and this parapet was being rebuilt.
