This bench mark was used during the Third geodetic levelling, Scotland. It was included on the Glen Moriston to Loch Tarff and Spean Bridge to Loch Tarff levelling lines. The surveyor's description was OSBM Bolt on culvert.

Near Glendoebeg. OS database: OSBM BOLT CUL NW SIDE RD 143.0M SW PRODN FENCE JUNC OPP, Levelled to a height of 236.6460m, 0.1m above ground.
The culvert is in good condition, but buried beneath a thick carpet of moss. Rolling back the carpet revealed the Bolt in excellent condition. Pleasing after 5 successive blanks (the day began with success at NH 3879 1055).
