This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 441.3040 feet [134.5095 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Melbourne to Waltham on the Wolds levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on parapet, wall of railway bridge, at footpath to Waltham on the Wolds.

On parapet of bridge over footpath, at former trackbed level, on NW face at NE end of SE parapet.
Note that this FB was not included in the Third Geodetic levelling of the line from Waltham to Melbourne, suggesting that the line was rerouted via roads between FB 1388 and FB 1170, in contrast to the 2GL line which went along the railway.
