This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 506.8290 feet [154.4815 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Hawick to Moffat levelling line. The surveyor's description was S face of bridge, 18' W of centre of Blackhope Burn, N side of road.
