This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 984.5060 feet [300.0774 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Hawick to Moffat levelling line. The surveyor's description was SE face of bridge, 10' SW of centre of Raking Gill, SE side of road.
