Flush Bracket on living rock, E. side of road, about 2½ chains N.N.E. from Maresfield School [2GL] - FB reported destroyed (13/07/1939?); presumably later replaced by G2014 nearby.

Second Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1912-21)
This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 150.7750 feet [45.9562 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Alfriston to Croydon levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on living rock, E. side of road, abour 2½ chains N.N.E. from Maresfield School.

Found rock outcrop on east side of road - nothing there, there is a square sided hole in the rock - possible location?

Visited on 10th September 2005 by RHW. Condition: Unknown.
BBH seems convinced it's gone - I didn't even spot the outcrop!
