Flush Bracket S7846: Balvalaich ?   

On E face, 8' from SE angle of building, N side of road - 145.116' [Helmsdale to Reay] - tentative identification of location; Balvalaich (formerly a school?) at NC 9424 1897; no BM is shown on the 1:10 000 map on this building (but there are plenty of other BMs along the road nearby, including an OSBM Bolt which may be a 1975 replacement for the FB). Another possible candidate location was Upper Torrish at NC 9721 1869; this building is on the S side of road, not the N side of road, but otherwise matches the description, and BM 44.19m shown on the 1:10 000 map made this location seem at least plausible (but it turns out that this is listed as a cut BM). Initially somewhat confused when trying to track this down, as the 1:25 000 map has imperial spot heights along this section of the road, despite having metric contours!

I didnt look at grid ref as building is to S of road. Looked at Balvalaich but there looks to have been an extension built onto E face (no sign of fb)
