This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 774.7900 feet [236.1560 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Matlock to Macclesfield levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on S. face of railway bridge, N. side of road, opposite Topleypike Quarry.

SW face of pier of railway bridge, close to NW end, on N side of busy A6 road. BM 236.13m on MasterMap. Only the top half of the FB visible; rest of FB buried in road.
Also cut mark in fair condition, adjacent on W end face of bridge pier - BM 236.63m on MasterMap.
