This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 1399.8090 feet [426.6618 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Matlock to Macclesfield levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on S.W. end of outhouse, 4 chains W. from S.E. end of Old Longhill Road.

Visited on 1st July 2006 by RodS. Grid reference: SK 0316 7523. Condition: Destroyed.
Location SK 0316 7523 fits 2GL description and height, and old large scale maps show BM 1400.0 ft on S face at SW angle of Longhill Farm. BM 426.55m nearby on LandLine does not relate to FB. Remains of old buildings visible on site (plus modern rain gauge enclosure), but no trace of FB found. Height and description do not fit alternative suggested location of SK 042 747.
