This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 309.4560 feet [94.3222 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Warwick to Daventry levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on S.E. face of Daventry Road Bridge over canal.

Centre of the retaining wall, about 3m N of tow path, 5m E of the arch. Steps down from road short distance to E. Vgc, apart from a bit of lime deposit from the wall.

Visited on 8th November 2004 by RHW. Condition: Probably destroyed.
Some repairs to brickwork on SE face, but bridge possibly rebuilt when GUC widened.
