This projecting bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 114.9280 feet [35.0301 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Southampton to Winchester - Eastleigh to Winchester Branch levelling line. The surveyor's description was Bracket on S.E. parapet and N.E. end of viaduct, S.E of St. Cross.

Former railway viaduct, now used as a path. Although there is a lot of ivy, there ia a fair view of much of the SE parapet at the NE end. I could see no sign of the PB. It could have been lost to repairs at some stage?
