This bench mark was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 356.7510 feet [108.7377 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included as a side level on the Greetland to Skipton levelling line. The surveyor's description was Bolt in S. face of Christ Church Tower.

Cut mark and bolt in excellent condition. The mark is close to the SW angle so I think the two descriptions refer to the same mark. There is also what appears to be a bolt or a rivet in the shoulder of stonework directly below the 1GL bolt.
