This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 238.2750 feet [72.6262 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Daventry to Great Linford levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on N.E. face of railway bridge over canal, S.W. end of Recreation Ground, Wolverton.

New houses are being built by the canal. When I visited this one, I suspected that its location was now behind a solid wooden building site fence. RHW's photo confirms my suspicion.
