This bench mark was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 11.1260 feet [3.3912 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the North Petherton to Flax Bourton (Axmouth to Perry Farm Branch) levelling line. It was included as a side level on the Dorchester to Beer levelling line.
