This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 539.4280 feet [164.4177 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Matlock to Broomhead Moor levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket at base of S.E. abutment of railway bridge, at N.W. end of Round Wood.

Visited on 15th January 2005 by RHW. Grid reference: SK 243 793. Condition: Good.
Round Wood- railway bridge. NE side of rly, S cnr, SE face, barely clear of ballast, at rail level. Busy railway.
