This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 35.8580 feet [10.9295 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Sapperton to Sharpness levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on stone in support of Swing Bridge, S.E. end of the Severn Railway Bridge.

Gone alright, no two ways about that. The scar is obvious. If the remains are anything to go by, there would have been one enormous swing bridge here!

Not entirely surprising Iain failed to find it - my original plot was the swing bridge in the middle of Sharpness docks ...

And really surprised not to find it as all looks original. May be buried.
