E face 0.5m from NE angle of S buttress of ex canal bridge. Bridge standing in splendid isolation in pasture.
Logged on 21st January 2007 by lackofluke. Condition: Good.
The bridge is still in good shape, although there is no canal any more. The FB is intact and clearly visible from the top of the bridge.
The 2GL Buckland-Sapperton line follows the Thames & Severn Canal from Inglesham near Lechlade, to Coates near Sapperton. 29 FBs were placed on bridges and other such structures along the route of the canal. The canal fell into disuse early in the previous century, and as a result many of them have been lost. This is only the second one I am aware of that still exists.

Got about 50m away from this one before the only way on seemed to be along a hopelessly overgrown track. Bridge is still marked on maps but canal is no longer there.
