This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 254.0030 feet [77.4201 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Buckland to Sapperton levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on S.W. face of Rucks Bridge over canal.

Non-visit log. This FB may have been reported destroyed but I couldn't help but notice something vaguely FB-like on a picture of this bridge at http://tinyurl.com/29asd6 . It's below and to the left of the water hydrant plate. I think a site visit is going to be necessary.... Edit 21/08/2007 - looks like I was right!
