Second Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1912-21)
This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 327.5670 feet [99.8424 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Buckland to Sapperton levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on S.E. face of Cowground Bridge, over canal.

The bridge is no longer marked on 1:50K mapping, although it is still shown at 1:25K. It seems in very poor shape - I certainly wouldn't want to cross it! I beat back the vegetation on the SE of the bridge by the towpath but didn't find the FB. There is, however, a (cancelled?) cut BM on the other side of the bridge.
