Second Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales (1912-21)
This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 57.0290 feet [17.3824 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Carmarthen to Llandovery levelling line. The surveyor's description was Flush Bracket on E. battlement of Pont Llandilo-yr-ynys, River Towy.

Logged on 11th September 2005 by superswifteagle. Grid reference: SN 4936 2028. Condition: Probably destroyed.
No sign of FB. Bridge seems to be largely original but the plaque stone lists the original 18C bridge as being "substantially renewed" in 1933 and then again after a flood in 1951. Carmarthenshire's mapping pages list no benchmark on the bridge (one just up the road) so it's probably gone
