Bridge is on the line of the old road (now a dead end), and is in pretty good condition, except for the westernmost 6 feet of the N parapet. Unfortunately it's completely covered in thick moss & vegetation. Supposed site of FB is buried behind a fallen tree. Whole area is full of rubbish, chippings and deep mud, most of it "agricultural"! Spent some time but no luck. Probably 5 mins work with a metal detector and machete - I'm sure the FB must be there. 1/6/07 - tried again, removed lots of creepers, still no luck. "N face" implies streamside which I checked but the moss is so thick it;s impossible to say whether it;s there or not. Map marks FB on S face of N parapet.
